Back to School Jitters

I am filled with mixed emotions right now as I am within 42 hours of going back to school. I am excited for my Senior Year. Disgusted by the fact that I have to be ready to learn at 7:45 in the morning. Curious to see what people's reactions are going to be with the surgery and all. Nervous for my last core class, Algebra 2. Clueless on where and how to even begin approaching MATC. Envious of the majority of my friends who are all cozy in their new dorm rooms, making new friends with roommates, and living on campus outside of Orem, Utah. And last, but not least, relieved to spend 6 1/2 hours taking a break from the family.
I am looking forward to seeing my buddies, favorite teachers, having a rediculously easy schedule, and like I said before, a break from the fam-damily.
I am not looking forward to seeing bothersome people, hateful teachers, homework, Algebra 2 and spending 6 1/2 hours in a desk.
I will miss having spare time, sleeping, the hours spent outside in the sun, reading, doing my puzzles, staying up late, watching movies and spending time with friends and family.
Hope this years a good one! Wish me luck! Here goes nothing!

Post Op Recovery

My body demands that this entry be short. The surgery took a grand total of 5 and 1/2 hours. I am recovering pretty well. Only one minor setback. Sore as hell. Hopefully I will be back to fully functioning soon. Thanks to anyone and everyone who has wished me well, visited me, brought gifts and goodies. Thanks Mum for helping me out while I am still completely and utterly useless other than taking up space and making noices. Much love. -Bren

Big Day

I'll make this short and sweet...

Today I got to see little Kylee off to Tuscon, Arizona. I had not seen her for years and she has grown up so much. Such a sweet little girl.

Tomorrow is the big day. I am scheduled for the 8 o'clock slot. It's a 3 to 5 hour procedure and it is expected that it will take me some time to wake from the anesthesia and a long recovery from there. I strongly discourage coming to see me prior to Friday. The first week is pretty messy but after the post op appointment Friday morning I should be decent enough for visitors. Thanks for all the well wishes and prayers, they are much appreciated. Loves!

Pre- Op Update

First things first, last night with Andrea was sooo much fun! Thanks for spending the time with me and most of all thanks for being patient with me.
This morning was a pretty interesting one. Ray had some dental work done this morning. My morning wake up call was her in hysterics, they had put her under sedation to do the work and she was having some adverse affects I guess. She screamed for a good 1 to 2 hours before I had to leave for my appointment.
At my appointment all went well. The procedure is still scheduled for the 8th which is just short of 4 days now. My enthusiasm for visitors has been put on hold. I am now encouraging people to wait a week. It's not the visitor that's the problem, but the recovery sounds long, painful, and what I hadn't really realized... Disgusting. Anyways, if you come to visit me I will probably be a mess. Consider yourself warned.

Summer!

School's out and I am embracing what summer I have before the surgery. Tomorrow is pre-op stuff and I am looking forward to being bed ridden. NOT! Anyways... The results will make it worth it. The surgery is on June 8th. Visitors are welcome, I will just be beat up and drugged, but your visit will be appreciated. :]

Since the last time I wrote I have pulled of a 3.0 GPA for fourth term which was pretty impressive for FOURTH TERM! Thank heavens it's over!

My parents agreed to put a t.v. in my room prior to my 18th birthday.(18th birthday is rule/law.) They made the exception due to the bed rest for the rest of the summer. I bought Glee in honor of the new t.v. and in celebration. Thanks Mum and Dad!

This Memorial Day was spent with Mum and Jules. I had the opportunity to go to Salt Lake to visit some graves of very important people in my life. I miss them all! I will never forget you! I had the chance to take a tour of my past and tour my own personal history. Amazing. I recommend everyone learn a little bit more about your past and yourself. You won't regret it no matter what you find out. We also stopped at Ikea on the way home for a girl's night out and to lighten the mood a bit. As much as I loathe Memorial Day I did enjoy myself and am glad I had the chance to go.

This morning while babysitting the kiddies, Mikey's cat Skittles, brought a bird into the house. This was one of the few times I have wished she had brought in something dead. I spent a good half an hour trying to get this bird to fly out of the house while two children were wrapped around my legs screaming bloody murder. Good Morning Starshine, The Earth Says Hello.

As of right now, I am expecting some company from my very good friend, Andrea! Yay for friends!
Over and Out! Bren.

Sunday Evening

It's a fairly typical Sunday evening here in Utah. The weather is still persistant on being a downer. As of right now I thought it would be a good idea to dye my hair with Kool-Aid. Yes, that is a typical evening in the life of Bren, believe it or not. My aunt and I were having the discussion about if Kool-Aid is capable of dying your hair why would you even think to drink it?

This week...? Well... That's been pretty typical too. School is wrapping up and so are my favorite t.v. shows. Yay for season finales! Finals are going to be the next 3 days of my life and as long as there is a light at the end of the tunnel, aka... end of the school year, then I shall trudge through.

I decided this week that it was also time to get around to reading The Da Vinci Code. Loved it. Most definately one of my top faves. Would reccomend it to anyone... Except maybe a devout catholic?

Glee this week is going to be magnificent! Glee takes on Gaga! Glee+Gaga= Epic Success.

On one last note... My surgery is scheduled to take place June 8th for those of you who were wondering.
Bren over and out. <3

...And today was a day just like any other.

So I will try to make this as brief and as quick and painless for everybody. April 17th started with a book in front of my face that I was determined to finish before the break of dawn... Now that is a real shocker. Well I finished it around 4 this morning and it has left me hanging. You see it's the Mortal Instruments Trilogy. You read one and then it leaves you hanging and you can't help but wonder about the next book. So today I tried to settle down and pick up the 3rd book but due to my lack of sleep and the excessive reading the past 2 days I could not get myself to focus. Wish I could. I am dying to know the end. I would reccomend the books to anybody, but read at your own discretion.

Also had some time to spend with the kid brother and sister today. I was listening to Elvis' song, Burnin Love when Rachel came into my room and told me in quite the matter of fact tone "Bren, I'm just a hunka hunka burning love!" I died laughing. Ah... These kids kill me somedays.

Had the chance to get my fingers dirty in the soil this week. I got some daisies and sweet pea flowers planted and I can't wait for them to bloom. I love spring.

Earlier this week I found out that I am penciled in for the surgery to go forward in the first week of June. I can bearly contain my excitement. Ask those who know all about it. I nearly pee myself everytime I think about the outcome!

I also found out as of yesterday that going into cosmetology is finally an option. As of next year I should be doing part time education at both Timpanogos and Hair School! Again... Death by pure joy.

Happy Birthday Corrin. You're truely an angel. Save a spot for me in heaven.

Well there you go... That is the run down of my week. Hope that was brief and painless and I hope that your week has been wonderful as well! Loves!
